sudo port install vim
Just in case anyone else tried to do this on leopard only to find out that some of your keys don’t work. ‘i’ doesn’t bring you to insert mode. backspace and arrow keys don’t work either. Just copy the mac vimrc to your home directory
cp /usr/share/vim/vimrc ~/.vimrc
Also ~/.profile is actually ~/.bashrc
