Live long and prosper

Had quite an enjoyable weekend. Spent Friday night watching House MD. That seems to be one show that both ju and I can agree on, consistently.

Saturday started off with a visit to the graves to pay respect to my maternal grandfather. And then my great grand aunt and then my mother’s sister who passed at a young age of 16. All whom I’ve not met before. This tradition came and went like all the other years, un-fussed. Uncle treated us to a nice Peranakan meal at Keppel Club (next to Harbour Front). I must admit the Ayam Buah Keluak was one of the best I’ve tasted, and by best I mean closest to my Grandma’s.

After Lunch ju and I finally got round to watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Finally. It was slow (as warned by most friends) but had a nice tone to it. I liked the “circle of life” theme surrounding the whole show, the peacefulness of accepting death as part and parcel of life.

Huhu had requested Butter earlier in the week due to his “lack of action” during our last outing at Dazed Out so we were out in pretty much full force with guest appearances from Leon and Cindy. Cow was BEEEZY as he has been for the last few weeks *wink wink* and was missing in action. Really enjoyed Special K. Can’t stand R&B anymore. Met up with Zhi and Zhuang and had a couple of drinks with them. It was nice to see them after so long. It was also nice to get to know Charme a bit more.

Sunday Brunch at Rider’s Cafe, seems to be one of the regular brunch places for me, that and Canopy. Ju wants to try Prive next. Impulsive decision to go watch Star Trek. It lived up to the high expectations and made me want to watch the earlier tv series and movies. Vulcans seem like a pretty cool race. I guess I also don’t like it when I miss all the Star Trek references in The Big Bang Theory.

Before the movie, dropped by the Canon shop and played around with the 500D. It’s a lot more petite than my dad’s 50D. I’m pretty much sold. Can’t wait to get one.
